No Subject [ Tabla ]

Hi Everybody. This is Anand Ramanujam from Nagpur, India (State - Maharashtra). I am one of a senior disciple of Ustad.Allarakha the doyen and legend of Tabla. I have got a teaching and performing experience of more than 18 years.

Recently One of my DVD titled "Learn to Play Tabla" has been released by "Geethanjali" a pioneer in the field of Indian Cl****ical Music.

The DVD will come handy and will be definitely beneficial for one and all who wish to learn Tabla but are devoid of a Guru for some reason. Our attempt is to teach Tabla to even those who do not know anything about Tabla. Each and every moment of Tabla right from how to place the fingers to how to practise the different bols and how it is played has been explained and also the tuning techniques.

Even for those who know and have learnt Tabla, We sincerely feel that the DVD should help to exactly understand what a Taal is (Like in general terms we know it is a rhythemic cycle of certain beats or matras). But how a layman should be explained what a Taal is? What a Kayda, Rela, Thukde, or Chakradhar is? It is this part which answers these queries and will be surely interesting and really helpful for even those who are Tabla players. (THIS HAS BEEN EXPERIMENTED BY SHOWING THE DVD TO SOME LAYMEN AND THE FEEDBACK AND THE RESULT WAS AMAZING).
